Getting Started
Do I need experience to join?
Not at all! We welcome players of all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced athletes. Our programs are designed to help everyone learn and improve. Whether you're trying dodgeball for the first time or you're a seasoned player, you'll find a welcoming community and appropriate skill level.
What should I bring to my first session?
Just bring yourself, comfortable athletic clothing, and a water bottle. We provide all the equipment you need to get started - all dodgeball balls and game equipment are provided.
Wear comfortable athletic shoes suitable for indoor courts, and dress in clothes you can move freely in. That's all you need!
Can I try before committing to a league?
Absolutely! We offer free trial sessions for newcomers. This is a great way to experience the sport and meet our community before making any commitments. You can also try our drop-in sessions first, which don't require any long-term commitment.
For Kids Academy, we offer a free trial for first-time players so your child can experience the program before you commit to a full term.
How do I register for a program?
Registration is easy! You have several options:

Pricing & Costs
How much does it cost to participate?
Costs vary by program type:
- Drop-in Dodgeball: $15 per session ($12.50 for university students)
- Kids Academy: $160 per term (8 weeks) or $25 for a single session
- Competitive League: $180 per season (10 weeks)
- Social League: $140 per season (8 weeks)
All prices include equipment use. League fees also include playoffs, social events, and other benefits.
Do you offer student discounts?
Yes! University students receive a discount on drop-in dodgeball sessions. Student pricing is $12.50 per session (regular price is $15). Just select the student option when booking online.
For other programs, please contact us to discuss available discounts or payment plans.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept various payment methods including credit/debit cards through our online booking system. For league registrations and Kids Academy, we can also arrange payment plans or alternative payment methods. Contact us to discuss your preferred payment option.
Are there refunds if I can't attend?
Refund policies vary by program:
- Drop-in Sessions: Cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance may be eligible for a refund or credit
- Leagues: Refunds are generally not available once the season has started, but we can discuss options on a case-by-case basis
- Kids Academy: Please contact us to discuss refund or credit options

Programs & Sessions
What age groups do you cater to?
Our programs welcome players from 6 to 80+ years old:
- Kids Academy: Ages 6-17 (split into Little Dodgers 6-11 and Mighty Dodgers 12-17)
- Adult Programs: 18+ years old
We have specific programs for different age groups and skill levels to ensure everyone has a great experience. Our community is inclusive and welcoming to all ages and backgrounds.
What's the difference between drop-in sessions and leagues?
Drop-in Sessions: Casual, weekly sessions where you can come and play without any long-term commitment. Perfect for trying the sport, staying active, or playing when it suits your schedule. You book and pay per session.
Leagues: Structured seasons (8-10 weeks) with teams, regular games, playoffs, and social events. You commit to the full season, get assigned to a team, and participate in competitive play with standings and championships.
Both options are great - choose based on your preference for casual play or competitive team structure!
Where are your sessions located?
We have multiple locations across Melbourne:
- Monday Auburn: Auburn High School, Hawthorn East (Drop-in, 7:00-8:30 PM)
- Tuesday Flemington: (Drop-in, 7:00-8:30 PM)
- Kids Academy: Oakleigh Indoor Sports Centre (Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 PM)
- League Locations: CBD, Richmond, Carlton, South Yarra, Fitzroy, and more

How long are the sessions?
Session lengths vary by program:
- Drop-in Sessions: 1.5 hours (typically 7:00-8:30 PM)
- Kids Academy: 1 hour (4:30-5:30 PM)
- League Games: Varies by location, typically 1.5-2 hours including warm-up

What skill levels are available?
We offer programs for all skill levels:
- Beginner: Perfect for newcomers - learn the basics in a fun, supportive environment
- Intermediate: Some experience preferred - build on your skills with competitive play
- Advanced: Experienced players - high-intensity, competitive matches
- All Levels: Many sessions welcome players of all skill levels

Equipment & Facilities
Do I need to bring my own equipment?
No! We provide all necessary equipment - all dodgeball balls and game equipment are provided. Just bring yourself, comfortable athletic clothing, and a water bottle.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows for free movement:
- Comfortable athletic clothing (t-shirt, shorts, or leggings)
- Athletic shoes suitable for indoor courts (non-marking soles preferred)
- Avoid jewelry that could cause injury
- Bring a water bottle to stay hydrated

Kids Academy
What is the Kids Academy program?
The Kids Dodgeball Academy is a structured training program for children and teens aged 6 to 17. Held weekly at Oakleigh Indoor Sports Centre, our Academy teaches dodgeball fundamentals in a safe, inclusive, and high-energy environment.
The program is split into two age groups:
- Little Dodgers (Ages 6-11): Focus on coordination, movement, and social skills
- Mighty Dodgers (Ages 12-17): Advanced tactical training and competitive gameplay
When does Kids Academy run?
Kids Academy runs weekly on Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at Oakleigh Indoor Sports Centre. The program is ongoing, and you can join at any time during the term.
Each term runs for 8 weeks, but new participants are welcome to start at any point.
Is there a free trial for Kids Academy?
Yes! We offer a free trial session for first-time players. This allows your child to experience the program, meet the coaches, and see if they enjoy it before you commit to a full term.
