Learn how to play Dodgeball:

The main aim in dodgeball is to eliminate all members of the opposing team. You can achieve this by hitting them with a ball or by catching their throw.

Basic Dodgeball Rules:

  1. Starting the Game:

    • Teams position themselves on the back lines.

    • Six dodgeballs are lined up at the centre (three on the left and three on the right).

    • Upon the referee's whistle, players sprint to the centre to collect the three balls on the right side.

  2. Eliminating Opponents:

    • Strike an opponent with a ball to eliminate them.

    • Catch a ball thrown by an opponent before it touches the ground or hits the wall. The player who threw the ball is then out.

    • If a ball thrown by an opponent is deflected by a teammate and is caught before it lands, the thrower is out.

  3. Disarm Rule:

    • If a player is holding a ball and an opponent's throw knocks that ball out of their hands (without them dropping it on their own), they are considered "disarmed" and are out of the game.

  4. Reviving Players:

    • A catch doesn't only get an opponent out but also allows one of your previously out teammates to re-enter the game.

  5. Boundaries and Movement:

    • Players must stay within the court boundaries.

    • Only pick up balls from your side of the court.

  6. End of Game:

    • A game concludes when all players from one team are out, or a set time is reached.

    • The team with the most remaining players (or that has eliminated all opponents) is the winner.

Tips for Beginners:

  • Stay Alert: Keep an eye on both balls and opponents.

  • Embrace Teamwork: Work with teammates for strategies and combined throws.

  • Stay Mobile: A moving target is tougher to hit!
